1. The IRS says I owe taxes which I cannot pay.
What you may not know is that just about every tax problem is negotiable, if you know how to negotiate with the IRS. We will discuss the facts of your situation with you to help you determine if you are a candidate to make an offer for an agreement with the IRS. Such an agreement may greatly reduce the amount you have to pay the IRS to settle your debt. If you do not qualify for such an agreement, we can help you arrange a payment plan.
2. I have not filed my tax returns.
You are probably very worried about not having filed your returns, and even more worried that if you file now, the IRS may come after you. However, the worst thing you can do is to continue not filing your returns. We can help you investigate what the IRS knows about you and help you get those back returns filed. We will negotiate with the IRS about payments and the amount of taxes which may be due.
3. Can the IRS put me in jail because of my tax problems?
Can they? Yes. In most cases, are they going to? No. However, IRS problems should be taken very seriously. We need to investigate the facts of your situation as soon as possible so that we may advise you how best to deal the IRS problem.
4. I just received a notice that the IRS is going to put a levy on me.
We know that receiving that "Notice of Intent to Levy" in the mail scares folks half to death. However, if you contact us right away, before the Levy is actually filed, we can help you deal with your IRS problem in order to prevent the Levy from ever being filed. You must not ignore that Notice. Give us a call.
5. The IRS is going to take money from my bank accounts.
You have received a notice that the IRS is going to take money from your bank account. Yes, they can do that. And when they do, you will have little or no money for food, rent, utilities, etc. Unfortunately, when you did not contact us when the IRS sent their Notice of Intent to Levy, you left the IRS no choice but to put a levy on your bank account. Now that the IRS has your full attention, you must immediately contact us so that we can take action to attempt to protect your bank account.
6. The IRS is going to take money from my paycheck.
You have received a notice that the IRS is going to take money from your paycheck. Yes, they can do that. And when they do, you will have little or no money for food, rent, utilities, etc. Unfortunately, when you did not contact us when the IRS sent their Notice of Intent to Levy, you left the IRS no choice but to put a levy on your paycheck. Now that the IRS has your full attention, you must immediately contact us so that we can take action to attempt to protect your paycheck.
7. The IRS is going to take my property.
The IRS is about to seize your property. This is a terrible place for you to be. However, you did not get here by accident. It took years of you ignoring your tax problem to get to these dire straights. What we need to do now is help you determine what needs to be done in order to avoid the seizure of your property.
8. The IRS has filed a tax lien against me.
The tax lien is a public record, so anyone who looks will see that lien. That includes the bank or Title Company, if you are trying to buy or sell property, and the credit reporting companies as well. The best thing to do is to contact us soon enough to let us help prevent the lien from ever being filed. But, if the IRS lien has already been filed, then you need to contact us and let us help you take care of the tax debt which caused the lien to be filed.
9. I think my spouse/ex-spouse is in trouble with the IRS.
Their problem may or may not also be your problem. You need to contact us so that we can investigate the facts of the case and see what your liability, if any, is. You may have no tax liability at all. But, if you file jointly with someone who does have a tax problem, your income tax refunds will still be taken if you do not do something about this problem immediately.
10. I'm worried because my friend/relative has a tax problem and will not do anything about it.
You know that your friend/relative has IRS troubles, and you have begged, pleaded, threatened and even attempted bribery, but still this person will not do anything about the problem. Well, this is not too surprising, because people with IRS problems have a tendency to be procrastinators, and then once they have put off dealing with the problem long enough, they are scared to deal with it. Fortunately, these people tend to have good friends/relatives who are willing to risk their displeasure by forcing them to face their IRS problem. Those good friend/relatives know that the worst thing one can do is continue to ignore the IRS problem. Ignoring the IRS problem will only make the problem worse. So, please, for their sake, drag them, kicking and screaming, if you have to, into our office, and we will help you help them make their IRS nightmare go away. And we guarantee that we will make it as painless as possible and maybe even have a little fun in the process.
